Repair information for participants, families and care teams
Mobility equipment repairs: information for NDIS participants and care teams.
Practical repair, servicing and quote information for mobility equipment across Toowoomba and selected South East Queensland service areas.
Practical mobile support
Support that starts with the right information.
When mobility equipment needs repair or servicing, the important first step is to understand what has happened and what information is needed to arrange the work. Mobility Medics can provide practical repair, servicing and quote information for mobility scooters, power and manual wheelchairs and other supported equipment.
We work with participants, families, plan managers, support coordinators and occupational therapists across our genuine mobile service areas. We do not make funding decisions or promise that a repair will be approved. We can, however, explain the equipment issue, provide the factual documents needed for the job and communicate clearly with the people involved.
Check our service areasRepairs, servicing and maintenance
The NDIS has guidance for approved assistive technology that covers repairs and maintenance. The relevant pathway can differ depending on the equipment, the work required, the plan and how the plan is managed.
Smaller repairs may follow a different pathway from major repairs or regular servicing. If a quote is needed, tell us before work starts so the appropriate repair description can be prepared.
If the repair feels urgent
An urgent assistive-technology repair is not simply an inconvenient fault. NDIS guidance describes urgency in terms of equipment no longer working, no accessible backup support and a risk to the person’s safety or wellbeing.
If this applies, make it clear when you contact us. We will discuss what can be done operationally, while you can use the official NDIS pathway for funding or repair-process guidance.
What helps us prepare a quote or repair description
Please provide the equipment make and model, a clear description of the issue, photos or fault codes where available, location, the person or organisation who should receive the documents, and any required job or purchase-order reference.
For a battery or charger concern, a clear photo of the existing label can be useful. Early, accurate information helps ensure that the repair discussion starts in the right place.
A practical preventative-maintenance plan
Servicing and condition checks can help identify issues before they become a significant interruption. The right schedule depends on the manufacturer’s guidance, the equipment’s usage and its condition.
Keeping service records can support future diagnosis, care coordination and funding discussions. It does not guarantee a funding or approval outcome.
Common questions
Clear answers before you book.
Every repair is different. If you are unsure whether a mobile visit is suitable, give us the equipment details and we will discuss the practical next step.
Can the NDIS pay for mobility equipment repairs?
The NDIS has repair and maintenance guidance for approved assistive technology. What is covered depends on the participant’s equipment, plan, management type, warranty and the work required. Check current NDIS guidance and the plan manager or support team before authorising work.
Do I need a quote?
Tell us early if a written quote or repair description is needed. Current NDIS requirements can differ for smaller and larger repair work, so confirm the appropriate pathway for the participant.
Can Mobility Medics invoice a plan manager?
Confirm the preferred invoice and approval process before work begins. Mobility Medics can provide factual job, quote and invoice information required for the service process.
Does a battery replacement always need NDIS approval?
There is no one answer for every participant or piece of equipment. The correct pathway depends on the participant’s plan, approved equipment and the nature of the repair. Mobility Medics can identify the equipment issue but does not guarantee funding.
